Losing Kenya to white elephants

The latest big shocker in Kenya-the-land-of-many-shocks is an atlas produced by UNEP that shows how much environmental damage we’ve done to our beloved nation. The atlas spotlights the challenges, deforestation, soil erosion, coastal degradation….it does not mention climate change and glacial melt.  From these two images in the chapter on hotspots though, you can clearly see how screwed up Lake Nakuru’s watershed is

Lake Nakuru in the 70s

Lake Nakuru now

sad sad sad…

Vision 2030 sounds like an oxymoron for a country with severe myopia…is it just another white elephant?
