Thank you to Patricia Amira who sent me this – it should be on everyone’s blog!

Subject: If you are a woman – READ THIS – Bottle water Toxins and Cancer. Men read this for your sisters, mothers, wives, daughters. Friends. IF YOU ALREADY KNOW THIS ENSURE THAT EVERYONE AROUND YOU DOES…INCLUDING HOUSEHELP.

Another reminder!
No matter how many times you get this
E-mail,

Please send it on!!!!

Bottled water in your car is very dangerous!

On the Ellen show, Sheryl Crow said that this is what caused her breast cancer.
It has been identified as the most common cause of the high levels of dioxin in breast cancer tissue.

Sheryl Crow’s oncologist told her:women should not drink bottled water that has been left in a car.

The heat reacts with the chemicals in the plastic of the bottle which releases dioxin into the water. Dioxin is a toxin increasingly found in breast cancer tissue.
So please be careful and do not drink bottled water that has been left in a car.

Pass this on to all the women in your life. This information is the kind we need to know that just might save us!

Use a stainless steel canteen or a glass bottle instead of plastic!

LET EVERYONE WHO HAS A WIFE / GIRLFRIEND / DAUGHTER KNOW PLEASE!

This information is also being circulated at Walter Reed Army Medical Center .

No plastic containers in microwaves.
No plastic water bottles in freezers.

No plastic wrap in microwaves.

Dioxin chemical causes cancer, especially breast cancer.
Dioxins are highly poisonous to cells in our bodies.
Don’t freeze plastic bottles with water in them as this releases dioxins from the plastic.

Recently the Wellness Program Manager at Castle Hospital , was on a TV program to explain this health hazard.

He talked about dioxins and how bad they are for us.He said that we should not be heating food in the microwave using plastic containers….
This especially applies to foods that contain fat.

He said that the combination of fat, high heat and plastic releases dioxin into the food.

Instead, he recommends using glass, such as Pyrex or ceramic containers for heating food. You get the same result, but without the dioxin.

So, such things as TV dinners, instant soups, etc.,should be removed from their containers and heated in something else.

Paper isn’t bad but you don’t know what is in the paper. It’s safer to use tempered glass, such as Pyrex, etc.

He reminded us that a while ago some of the fast food restaurants moved away from the styrene foam containers to paper. The dioxin problem is one of the reasons…

Also, he pointed out that plastic wrap, such as Cling film, is just as dangerous when placed over foods to be cooked in the microwave.
As the food is nuked, the high heat causes poisonous toxins to actually melt out of the plastic wrap and drip into the food.

Cover food with a paper towel instead.

This is an article that should be sent to anyone important in your life!

Before I read this I thought plastic was bad for baby baboons

During a recent Trip to London I had the joy of visiting Brick Lane – one of the worlds most famous streets for graffiti – it’s where you can find famous Banksy pieces – and if you don’t know who Banksy is then go shoot yourself. Or check out his work at the the Brick Lane Gallery

In the last few months I’ve been given sensitive information worthy of wikileaks headlines – how to kill your MP in 60 days – by adding a pinch of a certain ground flower into his/her sukumawiki … I’m told it’s 100% effective and untraceable…

I might be pissed off with my MP, and at times I do wish they would “disappear” but I’m not a cold blooded killer

Here’s a better idea, you could write to your MP and <del>complain </del>complement him or her for all the achievements of 2010. i’ll warn you though, your MP might not want to hear how angry you were when they stood up for PEV suspects, defended criminalizing being gay, voted for Kenya to get out of the Rome Statute, misused CDF Funds, and bought one of Henry Koskey’s illegal cars… not to mention many other misdeeds.

I know of one MP who hides out in his home village pretending to be ill. He avoids parliament, questions and never shows up for public functions.

Well, the time of impunity is over, they can run but they can no longer hide” quoted my anonymous but very reliable source who got this list of your MP’s contact information on this website bidiiafrica.com

Make it your new years resolution to stop them from getting away with all that crap year after year.

It’s minus 8 degrees and 3 days of waiting has finally ended. A flight from San Diego, landed in Philly, then diverted to Orlando (not London), and arrived with passengers but not their luggage. Nice! Thanks US Airways!

Joshua arrived with only the underwear on his butt and they have been there for 3 days already. His luggage has gone awol. Despite the sub zero temperatures outside, he would not be seen dead in any of the warm clothes I brought to the airport for him. We left thousands of others waiting for friends and family at Gatwick, listening to the robotic voice making a global apology about the extraordinary delays. There wasn’t even a seat for people to sit on and the ridiculous Christmas tree took up so much space that we were all crammed together like sardines. The arrivals hall wasn’t even heated. Christmas cheer my ass. I’m surprised there wasn’t a riot. I had a good 2 hours wait and used it to practice mind over body (standing position in the blistering cold), and to study people.

Arriving passengers came through the arrivals avenue in bulges, as if they were being dumped out in lorry loads. You could tell where everyone was from by their behaviour, and clothes. I watched a black woman and her daughter lurching in the middle of one bulge, with everyone jostling and overtaking them. They had to be Nigerians. When they finally emerged I could see that they were struggling with a totally oversized and overstuffed suitcase. I don’t think it could even fit on a trolley, or perhaps the mother was too stingy to pay for one.

The black suitcase had the profile of two Kenyan policeman standing back to back, a low pregnant bulge on either side. The mother was pulling on a ridiculous strap, while the daughter pushed from behind. The undersized and rather bent suitcase wheels were not exactly making it easy and the bag swung back and forth as the pair strained. It looked like they were trying to get an unwilling cow to the market.

I wondered what was in that case and imagined plastic bags filled with heads of monkeys, duikers, porcupines, and other bushmeat … I even looked behind to see if there was a trail of blood, by now their Christmas feast must have defrosted given the 2 day flight delay. How boring, there wasn’t.

They glared at the welcoming crowd in arrivals. I’m sure we were all wondering the same thing. Who in the world makes such gigantic suitcases? Certainly not China – I mean the case was as tall as a chinese person. Unless they are designed for people trafficking – they could stack their clients in standing position. The Chinese are so resourceful.

I could tell that this pair was African. the mother in her colourful puffy shouldered print dress. And the daughter in the most gaudy pink jacket. Their welcoming party gave it away, instead of calling their names, they got their attention by making kissing sounds and loud hissing through their teeth.

The woman was rather obese. I could immediately see the advantage that her size gave her. Everyone moved out of her way when she moved. She probably got two seats for the price of one on her flight. And clearly, her welcoming party were in great praise of her gargantuan features. They left talking loudly, as if they were on Nigerian TV.

After they had gone the airport returned to a boring wait, then I saw a sign that made me laugh. A severely armed police man was pulling a little black and rather important looking case on wheels. On the case was big yellow writing.

“Forced entry will destroy contents”.

Yes it will! I thought as I planned putting this on my T-shirt.

Josh, arrived in T-shirt and jeans, canvas shoes. He has grown taller (will it ever stop). We rode the train from Gatwick lost in our conversation about submarines. Now 18 his big desire to go to be initiated into adulthood by going to a British pub legally. But that was thwarted when we threw his 3 day old clothes in the washer and offered him the only clothes that would fit his giraffe features, a pair of bright red bell bottoms.

We ended up having beers at home and pizza take out before the jetlag and exhaustion sucked him into dreamland.

We were hiking through dense thorn bush, getting bruised and torn, on a blazing hot day, exhausted, dehydrated and sunburned. We climbed hills and descended valleys, and got lost along the way many times. After 5 terrible hours, we finally found the cave we were looking for…… and there was nothing in it.
I have written a complaint letter and hope that the airline will respond and punish the entire crew for the damage that they are doing to their business.

Feel free to share the letter and whatever you do, think twice about flying on fly540.com which seems to be an airline in a state of slow collapse as witness by almost losing tehir aircraft in an auctioned due to non payment of a debt of 157 million shillings. Who the hell runs this business? No wonder they are saving pennies on ground transport.

We thought this was a new Kenya – this airline should reconsider whether it deserves to be in the market.

As @ColdTusker says , I should have flown KQ!

3. September 2010
Mombasa airport

Dear Sir/Madam,

I write to complain about the absolutely incompetent service that I and several other passengers have had to endure at Mombasa due to your airline.
After the aircraft was unable to land in Malindi the pilot announced that we were going to Nairobi. However about 40minutes into the 55 minute flight, he changed his mind and told us he was going to Mombasa.
We were informed that alternative transport would be available to Malindi on arrival in Mombasa. Ho

wever, we have now been sitting in Mombasa for nearly 2 hours and your manager, Morris Olunya insists that a vehicle is on it’s way. It takes only 2 hours to get to Malindi and we are still sitting in Mombasa. The ground crew here have been exceptionally poor at communicating and it is clear that the vehicle that is supposed to be coming to pick us up, is still at least one hour out of Mombasa being near Vipingo. The airline will not consider providing us with alternative transport.
I cannot tell you how furious and disappointed all the passengers are at the behavior of your airline and staff. Even your pilot Emmanuel seemed embarrassed and ashamed of the treatment that the passengers were getting because for the first 45 minutes none of the ground crew were able to reach the Manager Mr. Olunya.
We have been on the road since about 1 pm having arrived at Nairobi airport at 2 pm for a 3.30 pm flight. Even that flight was delayed to 4 pm. It is now 8.30 pm and after we missed all our meetings and business for today in Malindi we requested that 540.com provide us with a drink and something to eat. After quite an argument Mr. Olunya finally conceded – it is unbelievable.
I would like to know what you will do to compensate us and all the other passengers for this horrendous service and waste of time. I for one hope never to have the travel on your useless airline ever again.

Paula Kahumbu

Dear all,

I need your help.

On August 1st 2010, the president of Tanzania, Jakaya Kikwete, approved the construction of a controversial highway across the Serengeti National Park – long story short, it will kill the great wildebeest migration. WE MUST NOT LET THIS HAPPEN.

Please write to the Tanzanian Ambassador in your country, region to protest the construction of the highway. Here is some suggested text, and some key contacts.

Please circulate this information as widely as you can – on your own blogs, twitter, FB etc.

His Excellency

Jakaya Kikwete

President of the Republic of Tanzania

<Today’s Date>

Dear President Kikwete

While I understand and support the need for Tanzania to develop her cities and natural resources, I think that the Tanzanian decision to construct a highway across the Serengeti the greatest threat in the Serengeti’s history, and will destroy a globally important heritage, the great Wildebeest migration.

Scientists have warned that the highway which is in the direct path of ancient wildlife migration routes will destroy the migration and will have disastrous effects on the entire ecosystem. The northern parts of the Serengeti and the adjacent Masai Mara are critical for the wildebeest and zebra migration during the dry season, as it is the only permanent year-round water source for these herds.

I appeal to you and the government of Tanzania to stop the planned construction of this highway and choose an alternate route that offers a safer alternative route to the south which bypasses Serengeti altogether. Please listen to the voices of millions of people world wide, and do not damage the legacy of your first president, Julius Nyerere who gave the Tanzania global recognition for conservation achievements. A reputation which your country still enjoys.

Yours Sincerely

<your name, address, and contacts>
